Silvia Hansen-Schirra is Dean and Professor of English Language and Translation Studies at the Faculty of Translation, Linguistics and Cultural Studies at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz in Germersheim. She is Director of the Centre for Translation & Cognition (TRA&CO) and co-editor of both the open access book series Translation and Multilingual Natural Language Processing and Easy – Plain – Accessible. Her research interests include machine translation, accessible communication and translation process research.

Bettina Kluge was appointed Professor of Applied Linguistics (Spanish) at the Institute for Translation Studies and Technical Communication at the University of Hildesheim in 2013. She completed her doctorate in 2002 on a topic related to migration linguistics and obtained her habilitation in Romance linguistics at the University of Bielefeld in 2013. She is co-editor of the book series Topics in Address Research (TAR) published by the John Benjamins Publishing Company. Her current research interests include the translation of forms of address, translation in the news (including audiovisual media) and indirect translation.

Ralph Krüger is Professor of Language and Translation Technology at the Institute for Translation and Multilingual Communication at the Faculty of Information Science and Communication Studies at TH Köln – University of Applied Sciences. He completed his doctorate in 2014 at the University of Salford and his habilitation in 2024 at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. He is co-editor of the translation studies journal Lebende Sprachen (‚Living Languages‘). His current research focuses on the theoretical, practical and didactic implications of language-related artificial intelligence technologies for translation and specialized communication.

Tinka Reichmann has been Professor of Translation Studies at Leipzig University since 2017, specializing in Interpreting Studies and Juritraductology. From 2008 to 2017, she held a professorship at the University of São Paulo (Brazil). She is a sworn translator and interpreter (English, French, Portuguese, Spanish) at the Higher Regional Court (Landgericht) in Saarbrücken and leads several continuing education courses in cooperation with professional translators’ associations. Her research focuses on translation and interpreting in legal contexts, the legal roles of translators, and specialized communication and translation in healthcare. She is co-editor of the translation studies journal Lebende Sprachen (‚Living Languages‘).
